We deliver comprehensive test reports in a timely manner to support clinical decision making and treatment options.  You receive interpretive comments on each test to help you assess the impact of the results.  Frequently, we customize reports with additional information or recommendations for sequential patient disease monitoring.

Only one form is needed for Molecular Pathology, Cytogenetics and/or Flow Cytometry testing on the same specimen.

Specimen Collection   -  ( More Details )

• All tissues (Products of Conception, Tumors, Lymph nodes)
  - Collect sample in sterile tissue transport media or sterile saline
  - Refrigerate if more than 24 hours before testing
• Classic Cytogenetics
  - Green Top / Sodium Heparin
• Molecular Genetics, Molecular Cytogenetics
  - Purple Top EDTA, Yellow ACD
  - Green Top ( If cytogenetics, molecular, and flow cytometry are ordered on a single specimen )

• Flow Cytometry
  - Purple Top EDTA, Yellow ACD

Specimen Packaging & Shipping

24 / 7 service is available but specimen delivery must be coordinated.

We will need the FEDEX tracking number, Patient Name/ID, & Sending Client Name/ID for facilitate the timely delivery of the specimen to the lab.

Local Courier Service

Local courier service is provided by several contracted individuals in addition to our own on-staff courier personnel. Our couriers deliver specimens, supplies, and reports as required. All personnel are appropriately trained in the handling and transport of bio-hazardous / infectious materials.

Accounts can be set up as:

Scheduled Pick-up Times - preset time slots.

As Needed - call our dispatch area when pick-up is needed at 675-7007 and enter 1879 for the beeper number weekdays between 0730 and 1500. In the event that this number cannot be reached call 675-5863 for assistance.

FedEx - for deliveries outside our local area.

Test Process and Timeline

Timelines vary per the test requested.  Archival material (i.e. paraffin ) requires additional testing time versus fresh specimen.  Specimens are processed upon receipt.  Cytogenetics studies require additional time for culture and chromosome preparation.  Multiple testing endpoints on a single specimen may delay final results.  Please Webform or call the lab at (318) 675-8545 to determine the timeline for your order.
