The LSUHSC-Shreveport Renal Consultative Services offers consultations in renal pathology and urologic pathology (notably renal neoplasia); both represent subspecialties of diagnostic interest and academic productivity. b. Online viewing of pathology images is available.
c. Instant email messages direct to the medical staff for answers reference your patient’s biopsy.

Preparation for biopsy:Supplies can be shipped directly to the nephrologist's office or facility where the biopsy will be performed. FedEx overnight delivery provides rapid transportation. Renal biopsy kits and pre-addressed overnight fliers with requisition forms are provided at no charge. |

Confirmation of Specimen Receipt:Our customer service personnel fax a receipt of specimen arrival which also provides the name and phone number of the renal pathologist reviewing the case. Renal Pathologist Review:Our facility is proud to have a specialized team of renal pathologists available to review each case. Stephen M. Bonsib, M.D., and Xin Gu, M.D., collectively offer more than 30 years of experience in nephropathology and urologic pathology. |

Phone Contact:Our personalized services are based on one-on-one interactions. Prompt phone contact with the contributing nephrologist or pathologists is always made to discuss biopsy findings in correlation with other relevant clinical history.
Results:The clinician is called directly, the day the biopsy is received, with the results of the light microscopy and immunofluorescent microscopy. A complete report is faxed immediately upon completion of the electron microscopy. Digital images are provided, e-mailed or a hard copy sent dependent upon the preference of the referring physician.
